the Wit
(66% dark, 38% spontaneous, 36% vulgar) |
your humor style: CLEAN | COMPLEX | DARK
You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you're probably an intellectual, but don't take that to mean pretentious. You realize 'dumb' can be witty--after all isn't that the Simpsons' philosophy?--but rudeness for its own sake, 'gross-out' humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat.
I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer.
Your sense of humor takes the most thought to appreciate, but it's also the best, in my opinion.
You probably loved the Office. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check it out here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/.

|
Your Birthdate: June 4 |
Being born on the 4th day of the month should help make you a better manager and organizer.
You may be more responsible and self-disciplined than you realize.
Sincere and honest, you are a serious and hard working individual.
Your feelings are likely to seem somewhat repressed at times.
The number 4 has something of an inhibiting effect on your ability to show and express affections, as feeling are very closely regulated and controlled.
You are apt to be much more practical, rational, and conscious of details.
There is a good deal of rigidity and stubbornness associated with the number 4. |

11:53 am - news out the wazoo, including THE MADEIRA, SURF ROCK NIGHT & the new 7.ZARK.7 solo album!!!
|
GELATINOUS PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS SURF ROCK NIGHT!
For many years, Gelatinous Productions has hosted Surf Rock Night events at venues around the Indianapolis area, and 2004 will be no different! Yes, you will once again be able to wet your musical appetite with the reverb-drenched tones of many of the finest surf bands from the U.S. and beyond.
A couple of different events will be held this year, the first of which will take place on SATURDAY, JUNE 5th at ZANIES TOO in Indianapolis. Slated to appear on June 5th will be famed hot-rod surf rockers and Estrus recording artists THE VOLCANOS!!! This legendary band rarely performs live in the Midwest these days, so don't miss this chance to see them! Also returned to Indy on June 5th will be THE TROUBADOURS, a SHADOWS tribute project featuring Ivan Pongracic of the SPACE COSSACKS!!! Rounding out the lineup will be a new band called THE MADEIRA...
ANNOUNCING 'THE MADEIRA'!
THE MADEIRA is a brand new surf music project featuring members of the SPACE COSSACKS, THE TROUBADOURS and DESTINATION: EARTH!
Grounded in the traditional sounds of the surf genre's early 60's heyday, THE MADEIRA combine high energy performances reminiscent of THE ATLANTICS and DICK DALE with exotic melodies and an unusually high level of musicianship.
Visit THE MADEIRA's new temporary website at http://www.surfguitar101.com/TheMadeira/index.html for a brief bio and free mp3 demos!!!
And see THE MADEIRA live for the first time at SURF ROCK NIGHT!!!
*SURF ROCK NIGHT* SATURDAY, JUNE 5th @ ZANIES TOO (5914 E. 10th Street, Indianapolis) THE VOLCANOS, THE MADEIRA & THE TROUBADOURS 9:30 p.m. Over 21.
'7.ZARK.7' ISSUES LONG-THREATENED SOLO RELEASE!
7.Zark.7 of DESTINATION: EARTH! fame has been threatening to release a solo project for many years, and it's finally happened. The new disc, 'Absolute Disintegration Of Available Mass,' is a collection of electronic, techno, ambient and experimental sounds. Though a far cry from the surf-rock mayhem for which he's known (and more similar to his work with 'THE UNEMPLOYED,' whom you may remember from the GELATINOUS PRODUCTIONS 2004 SAMPLER compilation), the dozen tracks collected here are a fascinating listen in their own right. One of the songs, "Toe Tapper," was recently previewed on the IndianapolisMusic.net mp3 compilation for independent artists. According to 7.Zark.7's liner notes, 'Absolute Disintegration Of Available Mass' was "produced and sequenced scientifically to simulate the progression of organic life toward existence of a purely virtual nature..." And it's one heck of a journey, we assure you.

You're Generally Indie. There's nothing wrong with this. You like music all over the map and aren't adversed to listening to some Top 40 here and there. You just know to comment that The Neptunes are the best producers around right now. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER
For those of you who have been keeping up with the data, DESTINATION: EARTH! played two final Debriefing Sessions this month, an all-vocal show at the beloved Melody Inn, and a one-time spacey experimental outing at Radio Radio.
D:E! REVIEWED BY COSMIK DEBRIS E-ZINE!
For the first time since the last, DESTINATION: EARTH! has been reviewed very favorably by DJ Johnson of the nearly legendary COSMIK DEBRIS E-ZINE (also known as the guy who last said that D:E! would "wipe the floor with Man Or Astroman"). Humanoid Johnson had this to say...
"More fun, thundering surf/spy/spacerock from the 23rd century, brought to us by a trio of aliens who have come back in time to give us the ultimate sneak preview at a greatest hits album. At least that's what they claim, and as they're aliens and therefore heavily armed with those... BZZZT! laser thingies, I'm not going to be the one to say "nuh UH!"... I find myself pulled into wild space battles by the crazy theremin and the hyper drums, amused by the unexpected mid-song voice samples saying things like "I'll take a can opener to that funny suit of yours and tear you apart," and generally entertained by the entire package of a good band with a clever gimmick and 16 original songs that rock hard amid the reverb. This is album number three for DESTINATION: EARTH!, and each one has been significantly stronger than the previous. That's good news for the rejuvenating instro surf scene."
Many thanks to the folks at COSMIK DEBRIS for their continued support!!!
RELATED EVENTS!
DESTINATION: EARTH! CDs and videos will continue to be available for online ordering at http://destinationearth.htmlplanet.com
This concludes our Debriefing Sessions here on your world, for the time being. When not in the process of taking over the universe, members of the DESTINATION: EARTH! crew can also be found performing auditory experiments in such musical units as the moody yet hook-filled FILM AT ELEVEN (http://filmateleven.i8.com), the gloomy doomy groovy DEVIL TO PAY (http://deviltopay.net), and the spunky, quirky minimalist rocking HIPSTER ZERO (http://hipsterzero.i8.com). IF YOU HAD THE CHOICE OF ANY SUPERHERO POWER TO POSSESS, WHAT WOULD IT BE? Invisibility... Although I WAS a superhero in highschool, and my power was to rap really badly. They called me "Whiteboy." 47. WHAT'S THE WEIRDEST DREAM YOU'VE EVER HAD? "I'm walking down an endless hallway. A sullen, pitch black corridor, okay. As hands reach out to grab me from behind, body parts are oozing down on me I find." - That's a lyric from my HIPSTER ZERO song, "Nitemares of Slim." 3:20 pm - JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE SURF!
|
As the DESTINATION: EARTH! crew gears up for another slew of Debriefing Sessions, we simultaneously move toward completion of our official 3rd full length collection of auditory experiments. 16 tracks have been laid down, and we are currently in the process of assembling this data with the assistance of Agent Adkins aboard the U.S.S. Azmyth. A track listing will be forthcoming.
The crew will appear in FULL BATTLE ARMOR for the first time in a year-and-a-half on FRIDAY, JANUARY 31st at the Melody Inn's second 'SURF ROCK NIGHT.' You should go too.
As if all this wasn't enough, I am also bringing a few other projects close to completion, including a new HIPSTER ZERO EP, an experimental/electronic/ambient offering, and an unplugged-style vocal collection. I plan to release this material in the very near future.
